Privacy Policy for Petitions
This privacy statement for petitions from AGAAS complements the general AGAAS privacy statement, where you can find more information about how AGAAS protects your information, including how we use cookies and other user tracking tools.
Before signing a petition, you should know what information we will keep private and what information we will make public.
AGAAS believes it is important for decision-makers to know what AGAAS supporters think about the major development challenges facing the Albert Schweitzer Hospital and life education in the face of time. A powerful way to influence these decision-makers is to present them with the results of petitions and similar types of actions.
To be effective, it is important to show that there are real people behind these petitions. For this reason, when you sign a petition, we treat your name and country as public information that we can share with decision-makers. We also share this information publicly on our website to encourage others who share the same views to show their support by signing the petition. If you wish to remain anonymous, please do not sign the petition.
However, we will never publicly disclose your email address, phone number, or any other personal information you share with us.
If you have checked the box to receive more information from us
If you have checked the box to receive more information from us about AGAAS's work, including updates on the petition campaign, fundraising appeals, and other ways to support children, AGAAS will use the information you provided to contact you about topics we believe will interest you. We may do so directly or through one of our AGAAS partner organizations in your country.
If you have not checked the box to receive more information from us, we will not share your information with any other parties and will only contact you (if necessary) for administrative purposes.
If you are under 13 years old
If you are under 13 years old, please do not provide us with your personal data and do not sign the petition. Our petitions are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
It is possible that, by mistake or fraud, we may receive information related to children under 13. If we are informed of this, once we verify the notification, we will immediately obtain parental consent or delete the information from our systems. If you wish to report the receipt of information from children under 13, please contact us.
Authorized Agents
We may share your information with selected agents or service providers, such as external contractors working on the maintenance of our websites, solely to help us do our work. These partners will act only under our instructions and will not use your information for their own purposes.
If you no longer wish to be contacted or have us retain your information
As explained above, when you sign a petition, we treat your name and country as public information. This information cannot be removed from the petition.
However, if you wish for us to delete your other personally identifiable information from our systems, or if you checked the box to receive more information from us but have changed your mind and wish to unsubscribe, please contact us. Our policy is to retain a minimal amount of your information after your unsubscription solely to ensure we have a record of your decision.
By supporting local communities and fostering initiatives rooted in Schweitzer’s principles, we strive to create a brighter, healthier future for all.
